The Coat of arms displayed is Sicilian (red top, silver bottom and 3 blue lozenges). The family origin is in the ancient Kingdom of Aragon in Spain. The settled in Sicily in 1282 (time of the Sicilian Vespers) when the king of Aragon was asked to aid in deposing the French from the Island. Sicily now came under the Aragonese rule. During the next few centuries the southern portion of Italy (Campania, Abbruzzi, Molise, Puglia, Calabria and Basilica) along with Sicily were know as the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies.
