The Coat of arms displayed is Sicilian (red top, silver
bottom and 3 blue lozenges). The family origin is in the ancient Kingdom
of Aragon in Spain. The settled in Sicily in 1282 (time of the Sicilian
Vespers) when the king of Aragon was asked to aid in deposing the French
from the Island. Sicily now came under the Aragonese rule. During the
next few centuries the southern portion of Italy (Campania, Abbruzzi,
Molise, Puglia, Calabria and Basilica) along with Sicily were know as
the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies. Many members of the family served the
King as well as nobles on the Italian penisular.
