This family of Udine oraginally came from Cenata. Clear and antique memoirs are found in the "Circondario di Bergamo", in Cenata, from the year 1500. It was established in Udine by a Gian Battista, a valiant man in the arms nicknamed "Il Privitello". He became a citizen of Udine and here was nominated captain in the local militia. In 1525 he took up arms in the service of the emperor Charles V who took him to Sicily and appointed him captain of the praesidium of Catania, and afterwords Castellano of Medissima. In 1540 he fought in the defence of Malta, besieged by the Turks. In Sicily his descendents are known as "Privitera"
