I am a Tirchett born, and I know how the original crest is. It is comprised of a circular shield with a sword passing behind it from top right to bottom left, and three six-pointed stars in chief. I am not sure of the colors since this crest is found on the original Tirchett grave found in the Addolorata cemetry, and thus it is engraved in stone. Another point of interest is that the original spelling of the surname (also found thus on this grave), was TARCHETT, meaning small shield.
